These Bronze Age gold bracelets are approximately 3,500 years old. They were part of the Capel Isaf hoard, found near Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire.
Bracelets such as these were made between 1700 and 1100 BC, and may well have been made from Welsh gold. Like other items of jewellery from this period, they would have been badges of status, of wealth and influence, worn by those who enjoyed the latest fashions and craftsmanship. Some of the pieces are extremely delicate and the designs very intricate.
